We became interested in raising goats before we actually left Florida.
After researching, the decision was made to raise a meat goat for market but it took the practice of hands on with this type of goat to fully understand and breed for quality and health.
Not only did we have to purchase our foundation stock, we had to understand confirmaton for meat and not the show ring.
Here at PRF Boar Goats, we look for that short, meaty and thick neck, a large head with roman nose indicating good Oxygen in-take. A massive chest and haunch is a must. Grading is based on the top line along the back. We breed for this in genetics for a large well rounded and muscled tenderloin.
After three years of breeding we have finally achieved an excellent line with good personalities and excellent immune systems.

Bucklings are sent to market or sold privetly. Our Doelings stay at the farm or sold as breeders.
