From the very first sight of the barn from the road, I knew I had to stop and take a few pictures of this magnificent Barn.
At the time, it seemed like a good thing to do since both of us were tired of driving looking for property. My initial though was to get a picture and maybe later on, do a painting of the old abandoned place.
This is also the Original Picture I was going to use on Close the Door We Live in a Barn, my second novel but, the resolution was wrong and just couldn't be fixed.
From the first moment my eyes fell on this old barn, I knew it was home. Pete didn't feel the same way though, I guess he didn't have the vision I had. All I knew was that it felt right and all of my fears of being homeless evaporated instantly. My feet rooted even before I spoke.
Can you believe that this was the first look at my new living quarters? Naturally I didn't see the 100 year old cow manure under that hay nor did I smell the scent of skunks and other critters hovering in the air that had been in residence, undisturbed for years. My whole being just shot with an uncontrolable want.
What I saw were brilliant floors and a room of tall space. This was going to be part of my new home, it's the outside isle, 12 feet wide and 9 feet tall.
Now, where to put the bed?
Of Course the Farm has to have a few animals so here is our herd of Boar Goats. Here they are on the upper 3 acre pasture. This picture was taken from the barn doors.
